The Wise Woman is the Eighth Archetype, ruling the powers of wisdom, healing and transcendance.

The Mystic is first face of the Wise Woman Archetype

The Priestess is the second face of the Wise Woman Archetype.

The Witch-Shaman is the third face of the Wise Woman Archetype.

The goddess at Samhain calls for a a time of in-drawing: the forces of darkness gain strength and the veil between worlds grows thin. It is a time of making prayers and ritual blessings for the purpose of healing ourselves and the earth. Here a Wise Woman and two priestesses are accompanied by animal familiars as they perform spells of cleansing and healing. The painting is an illustration from my novel-in-progress: "A Raven Watched"

Halloween is our celebration of the Wise Woman's feast. It is a time to honor the unseen spirits that surround our world. Festive "hauntings" and fairy flights fill a world of fantasy and dreamscape. Here a witchy mermaid and a buglike fairy gaze upon a moonlit lake where two fellow faery critters sail, and Mother Goose rides by the light of the Harvest moon.
