THE SEASON'S ORACLE

The Moon is the Mirror of the Goddess

Tiger Warrior Woman Last Quarter Moon

The feminine spiritual message is perpetually revealed by the turning of the seasons, and, above all, we see our own experience of transitions and changes mimed by the moon's monthly orbit. Like the faces of the moon, women's own cycles, moods, and roles pantomime the ever-changing Essence of female sexual and spiritual power   The Mother-god's most important lesson is that Divinity exists in everything and all life is sacred and erotic. Her lessons are shown in circles, cycles, spirals, webs, and wheels. These symbols of turning, holding, connecting, enfolding, embracing, and returning are all metaphors for Life in the Feminine Way.

THIS IS THE SEASON OF
MABON = FALL EQUINOX
and
THE WARIOR ARCHETYPE

The season begins on SEPTEMBER 22, and ends OCTOBER 31. It is symbolized by the SEVENTH moon-phase, the LAST QUARTER moon.

~ LAST QUARTER MOON ~ AUTUMN EQUINOX ~ Rising in the depth of night, the waning half-moon floats high above in the early light of dawn. Resembling the blade of a battle ax, or the hoof-print of a warrior’s steed, it marks the phase when a mission must be completed. It is the point in any cycle where we achieve our aims or we must let them go. Consequently, it is a time of revolt against limiting beliefs; a rebellion against out-dated ideas. The Warrior within helps us discover what we search for, overcome what obstructs our progress, defeat what threatens our liberty. The Warrior’s moon stands guard, reminding us to prepare ourselves for our own daily skirmishes with life.

AUTUMN EQUINOX / MABON / HARVEST HOME: (September 21) Mid-fall. Equal day and night. Dark begins to increase, and light wanes. It is the time to reap the final harvest, to gather in what has been grown, to stockpile provisions for fallow months to come, and to fortify defenses against winter‘s blasts.
